Louis XVI style ormolu gilded bronze mounted pair of chandeliers. 19th Century, French.

Ormolu gilded chandelier, French 19th Century. Carved goat head sculptures on opposite ends of the arm stem. The arm stem between the goat heads features carved leaf design relief sculptures in rectangular panels about.

Branches are simple in design, and the bobeche is decorated about the edge with simple design. The top is a cage design, with a central candle in the middle. The candle nozzles are urn shaped.

Pair of chandeliers is electrified, with modern lights in the candle nozzles.

Front of the mantel decorated with vertical oval shapes, into which are set ormolu gilded pieces of plain decoration. At the corners are two square shaped ormolu decorative pieces with stylized foliate design.

Large central face with numerals and large hands. Face and border decorated with ormolu gilded bronze. Hourly chimes, needs overhaul for proper functioning.

Clock face bordered on each side by feline heads in open-mouth gesture. Below the face is the head of a cherubim. Filigreed stylized foliar designs beneath the cherubim, extending below to form a plaque below the clock face. Above the face a crown design, terminating in a stylized foliar design at the top.

Appearance indicates it is most likely in the Louis XVI style, due to the shape of the legs, the piece, and the secret compartments.

Louis XVI style three piece garniture with mantle clock and five-light candelabra, gilded, Sevres porcelain. French, 19th Century.

Arched rectangular clock with central face surrounded by beading in bronze mounted ormolu gilding, with Roman numerals, hands in bronze mounted ormolu gilding. Central scene of courting couple, with a scene below the face of another courting couple, both scenes bordered with turquoise porcelain. Face is surmounted by stylized foliate design, bronze mounted ormolu gilded, with turquoise porcelain urn shaped finial with stylized foliate handles decorated with ormolu gilding over bronze mounts. Scenes of courting couples also decorate the sides of the clock. The clock is set into a pierced stylized foliate design with central Greek style face, in ormolu gilding over bronze mounts, upon a plinth, also ormolu gilded, set upon a base carved with abstract relief, bronze mounted ormolu gilded.

Each five-light candelabra with turquoise porcelain urn shaped center flanked by carved bronze mounted ormolu gilded griffins, set into a bronze mounted ormolu gilded base decorated on each of four sides with stylized foliate design with scrolled feet. Surmounting the urn is a central stem decorated with stylized foliate and floral design, connecting to four scrolling arms, each connected to a relief carved bobeche, beneath which are stylized flowers, and surmounting the bobeche are candle nozzles carved in relief, all bronze mounted and gilded with ormolu. Painted scenes surround the urn shapes in the center, and on each side of the bottom are separate scenes.

The piece is signed. Condition is excellent, with no chips, cracks, or flaws.

Louis XVI style three piece garniture with mantle clock and pair of candelabra. 19th Century, French.

Vasiform cobalt porcelain mantle clock with central clock face with numerals, surrounded by bronze mounted ormolu gilded detailed floral design, connected by floral garlands to carved goat heads at the sides of the clock, also bronze mounted ormolu gilded. Hands are gilded and clock face is bordered within the floral design by a rope design, also bronze mounted ormolu gilded. Above the vasiform piece rests a concave cylinder seal shape decorated with carved abstract design, in front of which is a floral swag, with garlands of flowers connecting to the side of the cylinder seal, which is crowned above by additional detailed floral designs, and a bouquet at the top.

Vasiform shape rests on a bronze mounted gilded pedestal, at each side sits a cherubim, with central pierced sculpture of filigreed stylized floral design in an arched shape, with stylized floral designs above. Bronze mounted ormolu gilded feet at the sides decorated with stylized foliate designs.

Pair of vasiform cobalt porcelain candelabra, each with floral swag at the center, connected to stylized foliate garlands at each side, surmounted by intricately detailed branches each topped by highly detailed single flowers: lilies and daisies. The central branch is surmounted by a large lily. Several of the lilies are candle nozzles. The vasiform shape resting atop a bronze mounted ormolu gilded base with floral medallions at the centers and corners of each of four sides.

Tapering arched mantle clock. The clock face with Roman numerals above a Greek style carved relief face, in silver gilt, bordered by ormolu gilded filigrees. Carved face wears a necklace of ormolu gilded pearls, with foliate designs in the hair. The clock is flanked by two griffins facing outward, in silver gilt with ormolu accents.

Clock face is silver gilt with ormolu gilded border, surrounded by foliate and floral designs in ormolu. Crowning the clock is a vasiform shape. Matching candelabra pair with Greek style face resting atop tapered centers, the face surrounded by foliate and floral designs in ormolu gilding. The tapered center terminating in four legs with claw feet connected to the plinth beneath. Foliate designs decorate the legs and plinth of the candelabra. Filigreed arms connect the candle holders to the central column shaped stem, crowned by stylized foliate designs. Candelabra not originally a set with the mantle clock.

Chairs all of mahogany, with bronze mounted ormolu gilding. Upper chair back features open scrolled stylized foliate designs with a central medallion featuring a Greek style face. Small medallion bronze mounted ormolu design elements at the sides of the chair backs, and scrolling stylized foliate designs below the seat back.

The skirt of the chair features stylized foliate central design. At the tops of each front leg is a stylized fan-like design, below which is a Greek style face, and the front two legs terminate in claw feet, also gilded with ormolu.

Clock and candelabra bases are rouge marble, the clock with a male bust set atop the base in bronze patina; the candelabra with branch and foliate stylized design in bronze patina set atop the base.

Made as a three piece set, signed by the artist, and given to the registrar of mortgages for the district of Rivelles in France.
