This is a pair of Beautiful Museum Quality Japanese Porcelain Vases with a floral and bird design, from the early 20th Century

The Vases have been housed in a convent, and the markings on the bottom are Japanese Kutani, and help to determine the age of the pieces. These lovely vases are hand-painted with a design of a bird and flowers on each side. The designs on the two vases are slightly different, and the photos depict the vases side by side.

The vases are made of high quality fine porcelain, and are very delicate and beautiful. They are museum quality vases. The shape of the vases is a typical Chinese shape, although the vases are Japanese.

There are markings in Japanese characters on the bottom of each vase, which I have not translated. Beautiful and delicate blue and pink flowers are painted on the sides of the vases, with gentle green leaves. A bird is alighting on or taking flight from the flowers, depending on which vase you are viewing. These vases are a wonderful addition to your collection of fine Porcelain Japanese vases.

The vases each measure 12" tall. The exquisite designs on the vases are very detailed and lovely.

This is an antique silver Pumpkin from Japan, that is probably sterling, though unmarked.

This small pumpkin is made primarily from silver, with some oxidized silver as well to add color and interest. It is in the shape of a pumpkin, surrounded by pumpkin leaves and vines. Some of the leaves are gilded.

This Japanese small pumpkin was made in the late 19th century, prior to the use of any precious metal marking system by Japan.

This sterling silver pumpkin is very small, only about 3" wide and about 2 1/2" tall. It has a weight of 3 troy ounces.

Porcelain lamp with flowers and birds. Japanese, date unknown.

Urn shaped porcelain lamp resting on a black plinth, above a base of pierced abstract design in unknown metal. Base design repeats four times on a rounded square base. Plinth bottom bordered by squared scrolling designs all about the edge.

Finely detailed painted birds and flowers on a light blue ground decorate the urn shaped porcelain part of the lamp, which is surmounted by a shape similar in reverse to the plinth below, also in black, decorated at the bottom with abstract gold designs. The stem above features a central trapezoidal shaped piece in reverse, with highly abstract relief sculpture, nearly symbological, to which attach curving branches which terminate in light sockets with chain pulls. The stem continuing above to terminate in a stylized design top screw.

Measures 27" high to shade rest.
