The Global Fax Festival was an event conceptualized and created by David Hammons, an American artist. It was held at the Crystal Palace in Madrid, Spain from June 1st through November 6th, in 2000.

During the festival, faxes were sent from all over the world to fax machines hanging suspended from the ceiling at the Crystal Palace. At the festival, the papers being faxed were falling to the floor.

A full color brochure describes the location of the festival, as well as the concept behind it, engineered by David Hammons. This complete binder is very rare, as only 20 were produced. A CD is included with the binder packet, which contains music from the Global Fax Festival.

David Hammons was born in 1943 in Springfield, Illinois. He is an African American artist known primarily for his works in and around New York City.

Many of his works center around racial themes.

David Hammons is a part of the civil rights and Black Power movements in the United States.

He is also mentioned on the page of The Gathering of Tribes Gallery in New York City as a contributor. Steve Canon wrote a recent review of the works of David Hammons, also on the Gathering of Tribes website. The Museum of Modern Art houses his African American Flag in its permanent collection.
