This is a pair of Continental 800 or 875 Silver Russian Open Salts.

These Russian open salts are made with Russian silver marked as 84 zolotniki, which translates into .875 fineness. These salts are also marked with a kokoshnik in left facing profile, indicating that this pair of Russian salts was made between 1896 and 1908.

This intircately detailed set of Russian open salts has been carved and designed to look like a table top with a table cloth hanging over the edge. The legs and feet of the salts, standing on a flat base, resemble intricately carved table legs.

This set of silver Russian open salts weighs 9 troy ounces. The Russian salts each have slightly different measurements. The first measures 3" high, with a diameter of 2 7/8". The second measures 2 7/8" high, with a diameter of 2 7/8". One of the salts has a small ding in the side close to the rim, detailed in the photos.
