Ormolu Mantel Clock Louis XVI Candelabra Porcelain Cobalt 19th C

This is a lovely cobalt blue porcelain three piece clock set.

This clock set is made of porcelain, with a strong and pure cobalt blue color. It features gilding using the Ormolu method of gilding, involving the use of mercury amalgams to create the gilding, and using 24k gold, the purest form of gold.

The ormolu is gilded over bronze. This three piece clock set was made in the 19th Century, and is a Louis XVI set. It was made in France.

The three piece clock set features a central mantel clock and two candelabra. The lovely ormolu detailing features two small carved cherubs on the clock pedestal, and ornate designs in gilding surround the face and pedestal of the clock.

The ornate candelabra feature the arms designed as branching flowers from the central cup, elegantly designed in ormolu gilding. Ornate designs decorate the candelabra pedestals and central cobalt porcelain as well.

The mantel clock measures 21" wide and 26" high. The candelabra each measure 8 ½" wide and 28 ½" high. This item is in good original condition.
