Sandra Benny was born in Cleveland, Ohio. Currently she resides in Llyods Neck, NY, where she continues to create her beautiful and expressive colored pencil drawings. Formally trained at Ohio University, she earned a Bachelor's degree in painting, drawing, and design. She received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Northern Illinois University in 1970. She retired from teaching at Long Island University's Brookville Campus, where she specialized in painting, drawing, and 2-D design.
