Empire Style 3 Piece Garniture Ormolu Silver Gilded 19th Century

Empire style three piece garniture featuring a mantel clock and two six-light candelabra. Ormolu and silver gilded. 19th Century, French.

Tapering arched mantle clock. The clock face with Roman numerals above a Greek style carved relief face, in silver gilt, bordered by ormolu gilded filigrees. Carved face wears a necklace of ormolu gilded pearls, with foliate designs in the hair. The clock is flanked by two griffins facing outward, in silver gilt with ormolu accents.

Clock face is silver gilt with ormolu gilded border, surrounded by foliate and floral designs in ormolu. Crowning the clock is a vasiform shape. Matching candelabra pair with Greek style face resting atop tapered centers, the face surrounded by foliate and floral designs in ormolu gilding. The tapered center terminating in four legs with claw feet connected to the plinth beneath. Foliate designs decorate the legs and plinth of the candelabra. Filigreed arms connect the candle holders to the central column shaped stem, crowned by stylized foliate designs. Candelabra not originally a set with the mantle clock.

Clock measures 30" high, 20" long, and 10" deep; the candelabra measure 33 1/2" high and 8" wide.
