This is an Antique Georgian Style Sterling
Silver Condiment Set
This lovely condiment set was made by Asprey & Co, appointed
as Silversmiths & Jewellers to Her Majesty the Queen
This sterling silver condiment set contains
a salt container lined with blue cobalt glass, a pepper shaker,
and a mustard dispenser also lined with blue cobalt glass, as well
as two spoons, one for dispensing salt, the other for mustard.
At the time this condiment set was made, in London, England, 1962,
salt was very valuable. Thus, the salt shaker is opened at the top,
with the blue cobalt glass liner, so that the salt was visible.
This condiment set is in its original box, and is in excellent condition.
Sterling made in the Georgian style was somewhat larger and heavier.
This lovely condiment set has a combined weight of 265 grams of
sterling silver.
The sterling silver condiment pieces measure as follows: Sterling
silver mustard container: 2" high, 2 1/4" diameter, 3
1/2" long from the edge to the handle. The sterling silver
salt container measures 1 1/2" high, and 2 1/4" in diameter.
The sterling silver pepper shaker measures 3" high, and 1 1/2"
in diameter. The sterling silver mustard spoon measures 3 1/4"
long, with the spoon's width being 1/2" to 3/4", and the
sterling silver salt spoon measures 2 1/2" long, and the spoon's
diameter is 3/4" (the salt spoon is round). The box measures
3 1/2" tall, and 10" long, and 5" wide.
This sterling silver condiment set is in excellent condition, with
no notable defects.
