This is a very rare antique Bellarmine Stoneware Jug/ Flagon/Whiskey container from the 17th Century.

This very rare jug is made even rarer by the presence of the most likely original pewter top. Most of the pewter jug stoppers have been lost on these stoneware pieces.

This Jug is an Armorial Bellarmine A Frechen jug. These jugs were most likely named after the unpopular Cardinal Bellarmine who lived from 1542 - 1621. According to Wikipedia, he was a Roman Catholic theologian, and was a leader of the counter reformation. These jugs are salt glazed, a process whereby salt is put into a kiln during firing, where a reaction occurs, creating the glaze.

This jug features the distinctive bearded face, and a floral relief decoration below it.

This is an Antique Majolica Asparagus Spear Pitcher.

This interesting pitcher was made in the early 1800s in Onnaing, France.

This beautiful pitcher features designs of upright asparagus spears all around the upper opening, with a pouring spout at one side for easy pouring of liquids. The asparagus spears are lovely shades of purple and green.

This lovely pitcher stands 8" tall. It also features a handle which is also shaped like an asparagus spear.

The bottom rim of the pitcher shows some age wear as small chips. There is also a small chip on the side of the pitcher. Otherwise, this pitcher is in good condition.
