A. Jain Marunouchi Gallery, located in New York City, was incorporated on October 2, 1997. Prior to 1997, the gallery had its roots as Jain Gallery, a well-known New York City gallery that was founded in 1980. Jain Gallery was initially located in New York��s prominent and industry-based Decoration & Design building, the epicenter of the city��s décor and design world. During its initial years, the gallery established many formidable connections with collectors, decorators, and public clients who continue to support the gallery to this day. By the mid 1990s, Jain Gallery��s management decided to focus heavily on the representation of Asian and European art, expanding beyond its traditional line of American artists. The gallery joined forces with a number of Japanese institutions and established itself in a prominent SoHo location at the birth of the downtown art movement in New York City.

For a number of years the gallery flourished as a destination for established and emerging artists alike. It helped make art more accessible to the public and promoted its works through various publications and art fairs. As the 90s came to an end, the art market began to shift from SoHo to Chelsea and Midtown Manhattan. It was at this point that the gallery moved to its current location at New York��s Gallery Building, a ten-story complex that houses some of the city��s finest and most well-known galleries. For the past eleven years A. Jain Marunouchi Gallery has exhibited and represented a diverse range of artists whose works span continents, genres, and mediums.

A. Jain Marunouchi Gallery is an institution that has been committed to exhibiting and representing fine artworks from prominent and emerging artists alike. The gallery has come to offer an extensive collection of contemporary artwork with artists from Asia, Australia, Europe, North America and South America. A. Jain Marunouchi Gallery has represented many fine artists at the international art fairs in Belgium, Los Angeles, Melbourne, New York, Switzerland, Tokyo and Yokohama. In addition, the gallery��s artists have been featured in Art in America, ArtNews, Asian Art Now, World Art, Art & Asia Pacific and The New York Times.

The new millennium has witnessed a surge in the popularity of contemporary art, both in the United States and abroad. In conjunction with its traditional art offerings, A. Jain Marunouchi Gallery continues in its passionate quest to promote and represent both emerging and well-established artists from across the globe. With a majority of the gallery��s artists residing in the Americas, Asia and Europe, A. Jain Marunouchi Gallery is certainly staying true to this focus.

Fernando Pomalaza

Fernando Pomalaza was born in Peru in 1943. He studied Fine Art at the School of Fine Arts in Huancayo, Peru. Fernando has been a member of many internation group shows, as well as a number of international individual exhibitions. His abstract art contains colorful shapes and forms, some of his paintings have very delicate and undefined edges, and other pieces contain sharp edges and forms. His works are unique and expressive.

Kumi Ito was born in Aizu Wakamatsu, Japan in 1942 She graduated from the Women's Junior College of Fine Art in 1963, and devoted herself to painting full time in 1995. Kumi Ito created idyllic scenes of children and families playing together, which she places in an old-style Japanese environment. Kumi Ito's paintings are relaxed, serene, and playful, but they are also full of rich and vibrant color. Kumi Ito has exhibited in America, her native Japan, and abroad.

Pauline Gagnon is a French Canadian artist from Montreal in Canada. Her paintings seek to create a surrealism of space, architecture, and place. Of her paintings, Pauline has said: "I would like to live in my paintings which have become huge spaces in which I would travel while thinking, dreaming, being."

Richard Vaux was born in Greenburg, Pennsylvania in 1940, and received a BFA from Miami University, and a MFA from Illinois University. He has taught Fine Art at Adelphi University Richard Vaux is represented in many public museum collections throughout the United States, Canada, South America, Europe, and the Far East.

Sudipta Choudhury is closely related to renowned painter Jamini Roy, and to sculptress Meera Mukherjee. Sudipta's paintings are an expression of her spirituality in vibrant color. The following is a quote by Sudipta about her vision: "Colors and a constant state of movement are what I endeavor to capture on my canvas. My spiritual evolution and experiences have been in sync and in conflict with my material and emotional environment. As the strength of my spirituality has grown, my artistic conscious has been able to translate metaphysical memories, impressions and emotions into my art. I seek to express these using vibrant colors and convey that a state of flux in any realm should culminate in harmonious progression to a more evolved plane."

Tirthankar Biswas was born in 1957 at Naihati. He attended the Government School of Arts and Crafts in Kolkata, receiving his diploams from that school in 1982. Tirthankar has been a member of many group and one man shows, primarily in his native India, as well as internationally. He has won several awards, including an award from the Indian Society of Oriental Art. His expressive and unique art shows considerable movement and energy. Many of his subjects are figures without faces, flowing with energetic lines and curves.
