This is an authentic Tiffany & Co. 14K Gold Ruby and Diamond Brooch and Earring set made in circa 1950

This gorgeous and stunning matching set is made in a starburst design.

The brooch and earrings have a star design radiating out from a central large diamond. The rays of the star are filled with genuine red rubies. "Behind" the first red ruby rays are a "shadow" set of rays which are filled with diamonds.

The rays are outlined in gold with the gems set into the outlines. Behind the two ray layers described above, are another set of rays that are made from pure 14K yellow gold. This is truly a stunning set, designed beautifully by Tiffany & Co artisans.

The brooch measures 2 inches in diameter, and the earrings are 1 and 1/8 inch diameter. There is a large diamond at the center of the brooch and the center of the earrings. There are 30 rubies in the pin with 10 surrounding diamonds (not chips). The earrings each have 20 rubies surrounding the central diamond, and 10 surrounding diamonds in each earring (not chips). The carat weight of each gem is presently unknown, though the center diamonds are very large. This pin and earring set was created circa 1950. This two piece set appraised for $12,500, and the appraisal is part of the auction.
