English Victorian Tilting Hot Water Kettle in Sterling Silver, 2 pieces, 19th Century, 1874.

Hot water kettle fits into the base at the sides. Elongated octagonal shape from the top, with chased abstract designs bordering the top and bottom around the sides of the body. Removable lid at the top, surmounted by a large foldable handle with small inserts to keep the center top of the handle cool. Hinged lid at the top, which also features chased designs. Beaded edges on the kettle and around the lid. Long spout at the side.

Base features chased designs around the border, and beaded designs around the edges and around a central circular shape. Inverted triangle shaped pieces at the sides upon which the kettle rests when in use. English sterling marks.

Masurements: overall height: 14 1/4"; kettle height: 11"; base width: 8 1/2" by 7 1/2" depth; kettle: 7 1/2" wide by 6 1/2" deep.
