This is a Rare Vintage 1937 Babar Storybook Print from the Babar Book Series by Jean de Brunhoff

This beautiful print is from the year 1937, and depicts the monkey village of the Babar character Zephir

This is an illustration from the book "Babar and Zephir."

The text on the page in the book (which is not part of this print or auction) reads: €œZephir arrives at the station of Monkeyville and throws himself into his mother's arms. "Gracious! How you've grown, my darling!" she says, as ske kisses him on both cheeks.€

This Storybook print has a white mat, and is covered with plastic. Print size is 12" x 20" not including the mat. The full size with the mat is 20" x 28" This storybook print is the double page spread from large early editions of this book. They originate from England. The center of each print has a vertical crease at the center of the picture where it would have been creased as part of the book.

This is an interesting and unique original painting of Cats by Fred Gonsowski

The cats represented in the painting have very large eyes, and are illustration-like. This painting is done in a whimsical style, for which Fred Gonsowski is famous.

Fred Gonsowski has been commissioned by the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, and has had many one man shows, both in New York and elsewhere.

This is an Authentic Kuba spear from the Democratic Republic of Congo.

The spears of the Kuba tribesmen of the Democratic Republic of the Congo are not only functional, but are considered by many collectors of African art to be beautiful, as they show a level of craftsmanship and attention to detail not often seen in a functional weapon.

The spear offered here has a forged spear head in the shape of a leaf. The handle has some decorative elements on it, and is made from local wood. Part of the handle exhibits some wear where the spear would have been held, as this spear was used by Kuba warriors for hunting.

This spear is antique, though its actual date is unknown. It was referred to as an elephant spear.

The dimensions of this spear are: 56 1/2" total length, 15 1/2" length of the head.

Brass Safe Plate by Milner, English, 19th Century

A round brass safe plate made by Milner's. Placed in front of the locking mechanism on a Milner's safe.

Coat of arms at the center, with the words "Patent Improved," and "Thief-Resisting & Strong Holdfast Safe" surrounding the center. Two small flag designs at each side with holes.

Made in England in the 19th Century, circa 1850.

Measures 10" wide by 8 1/2" tall.

This is an antique French Continental Silver Carving Set.

This French carving set contains a carving fork and carving knife. The carving knife has a steel blade, and the carving fork has steel tines. The marking on this carving set indicates that it was made in circa 1840, in Paris. The handles are French Continental Silver.

This continental silver carving set comes in its original box. The box and the handles are both monogrammed. The carving fork has a continental silver rabbit motif retractable guard attached to the handle.

This continental silver knife measures 13" long, and the continental silver carving fork measures 11" long. The troy ounce weight is unknown. This set is in good condition, but does show signs of wear and use to the blade and tines.

English Sterling Silver condiment set carved owl family. Contemporary

Large parent owl with large brown glass eyes, carved in sterling silver with discernible details such as the beak, feathers, and feet. Beak is gilded. Carved parent owl is the mustard dispenser, and includes a small sterling silver gilded spoon with a carved mouse at the end of the spoon handle.

Two smaller owls with carved details similar to the larger one, are salt and pepper shakers. Each has one or five holes on the top for dispensing the condiment. Vermeil interior to each piece of the condiment set.

Measurements: mustard dispenser: 4 1/2" tall; salt and pepper shakers: 2 3/4" tall.

This is lovely Lead Crystal glass covered server.

This beautiful lead crystal glass server is decorated with heads of the Roman god Janus. The heads are facing in opposite directions, as the Roman god Janus was able to see into the past and future at the same time.

The Janus head decorations are in the middle of the stem and on the top of the lid. This lovely Janus head compote covered server is made of lead crystal with frosted glass on the base. They are in mint condition.

This Janus head server measures approximately 10" high, and has a diameter of about 12". Exact measurements have not been taken, but are available upon request.

This beatiful doll represents the white rabbit from the children's book Alice in Wonderland by Lewis Carroll.
