Ivory Hippo Tusk Antique Sculpture Chinese Rhinocerous

This is an exquisitely hand-carved finely detailed Hippopotamus Tusk sculpture carved with Rhinocerus and baby rhinocerus.

The rhinocerous are visible on both sides, but all of their faces are on one side. There are also additional details like trees of the forest and grass to add to the beauty of this carving. This piece features intricate detailing for which Chinese sculpture artisans are known the world over.

This carving rests on a carved rosewood base. This piece is signed by the artisan who created this sculpture; please see photos.

The carving measures 13.5" wide and 7" high. With the stand, it measures 10" high on one side, and 8" high on the other side. This carving was made in the late 20th Century.
