Louis XVI Salon Set Ormolu Gilded 5 Piece Sofa & Side Chairs

Louis XVI Ormolu gilded 5 piece salon set, sofa and four side chairs. 19th Century French. Ormolu gilding over wood.

Sofa and chairs have canape backs open between the seat and the back. Louis XVI legs and feet on chairs and sofa.

Two chairs have widely spaced arms, upholstered at the middle, with the fronts of the arms and the canopy frames decorated with gilded carved designs.

Central carved rose designs at the center top of each canopy, on chairs and sofa. Aprons on all five pieces feature carved ormolu gilded wood, in abstract leaf designs. Carved gilded legs Louis XVI design.

Pink upholstery with floral basket designs at the center of each. Wide armed sofa, each arm also decorated with fabric at the center, fabric with roses and floral designs.

Measurements: Side chairs: 20" wide, 39" high; Arm chairs: 26" wide, 41 1/2" high; Sofa: 55" long, 45" high.
