Louis XVI style petite bergere slipper chair. French, 19th Century.

Bergere slipper chair with four legs designed as classical columns, connected to supports in similar style by central rectangular pieces following similar carving to the columns on the legs and supports. Legs and supports are carved as classical columns with vertical lines on all sides. Painted wood in gray/ green color.

Supports connected at their tops about the chair by horizontal wood on three sides with minor relief sculpture with stylized design. Stylized carved floral designs at the top terminations of the front two supports, while the supports at the back terminate with stylized trees with foliate design. Attractive non-original upholstery of floral designs in pink and green on a cream colored fabric ground.

Additional seat cushion missing. Measures 22 1/2" wide, 21 1/4" deep, 23 1/2" high,
