Neo-Classical Pair Chairs Metal Gilded French 19th Century

Pair of Neo-Classical style chairs of black metal with gilded decoration. French, 19th Century, circa 1890.

Lattice seats, with open backs, thin lines form an X design through the center, with small metal circle at the central joint. The top rail coming to a point at the center in a triangle shape, the lower portion of the top rail arched. Gilded scene of charioteer and horses in the center of the rail, holding whip. Borders on chair backs, legs, and rails feature a strip of gilding.

Black metal throughout, with straight thin legs ending with a slight curve, set into flat circular pads at the feet.

Small rust marks and scratches to the chairs' surfaces (please see photos for details).

Measures 19" wide, 16 1/2" deep, and 42" high.
