Pair of neoclassical style tole Jardiniers. 19th Century, French.

Sienna painted Jardiniers tapering to the bottom, with wide mouths. Interior of jardiniers is black. One side of exterior of jardiniers is painted in sienna with thin green painted borders and green swag with ribbon in the center, upon which is a carved bronze lion head with handles hanging from its mouth. Jardiniers rest on claw feet.

On the sides of the jardiniers are a painted central scene of fruit in circular gold border with foliate and floral designs below and green ribbon swag above, with rope swags also above joining the central ribbon swag. All sides are bordered in green paint.

Measures 11 3/4" by 9 1/4", and are 9 1/2" high.
