Charles X Arm Chair Pair Mahogany Scrolling Arms French 1890

Charles X style pair of arm chairs in mahogany. French 19th Century, circa 1890.

Scrolling arms connected to the chair back at the center; chair back is slightly arched at the top. Cream upholstery at the center of the back, bordered on all sides by mahogany wood. Open space between chair back and seat. Cream upholstery also on the seat. Back legs are slightly curved, and the front legs are highly curved with scrolling tops connected to the scrolling arms by rectangular piece between, a plinth resting between the scrolling arms and the rectangular piece.

Scroll design on the legs is carved in relief, whereas on the arms, the scrolling is open and more pronounced. Chair apron mahogany wood.

Chairs measure 22" wide, 35" high, and 28" deep.
